Nepal Update 2023

In 2015, we responded to the horrific earthquakes that struck Nepal. This was the first ever Crisis Response deployment, and while in country, Brad established a partnership with the National Mission Commission of Nepal.

Together, they were able to provide practical relief to many of the families affected by the earthquakes. Through our partnership with NMCN, we began to support funding costs for Thapathali Slum Education Center. The school hosts 50 students and is growing steadily- 5 new pupils have joined within the last year. All 50 of these students receive educational supplies like stationary, books, and bags while 27 receive scholarships for the school year.

During the beginning of June, our partners visited the slum and distributed school supplies to students which they were overjoyed to receive. The simple gift brought so much happiness to the kids. Our partners also met with parents and local leaders of the area, discussing the positive impact Thapathali school has had on the community. The parents said they have seen real improvement in their children’s education!

We also support another 4 children and their school fees. The students are doing well, studying hard and making good grades. Many of these student’s families have poor economic standings and the children wouldn’t be able to go to school without our support. We are so grateful to be able to help these kids attend school and secure their futures. We are so proud of all of these scholars- amazing work everyone!
