Cop a Load of This!
Reconnecting with one of our original donors in Lancashire. What a special time we had reminiscing.
This is just so cool. We went to visit Cop Lane CE Primary School last week to introduce one of our original projects to the children. This was all new information to them and they loved hearing about the work at Pencott Primary School in Uganda. The fun part was realizing that their predecessors were in fact, woven into the fabric of the Ugandan project’s very foundations.
Past staff and pupils of Cop Lane were among the first ever donors, helping to establish the very first school building in the slum. A building made of mud with a thin tin roof, the initial school building was a dream-come-true for Philip & Margaret (Founders of Pencott) who dreamt of providing free school places for the poor and vulnerable in this urban slum. The project has come so far since these early days, but the name of the place where the school is (Penwortham) is significantly spelled out in the name Pencott.
We are delighted to be back in touch to inform and inspire a new generation of supporters. The school is about to embark on some fundraising to help sustain this incredible project which we are super grateful for.
More to come on this soon…
