School Support
We are lucky enough to have support from schools all across the UK. This week has involved hundreds of students, both around the UK and at our warehouse in Notts.
Right now, schools are busy collecting coats for our Keep a Child Warm project and our wonderful volunteer drivers and staff are busy driving to pick these up and bring them back to our HQ for sorting.
But what happens next?
During the last week of school term, we take all of these donations to our local high school sixth form. Chilwell School kindly allow us to use their premises as well as providing scores of willing helpers to assist with sorting and packing. In the lead up to packing week there is so much to be done and THIS WEEK we are making the biggest dent in the workload with the help of 113 year 9 students from Trent College. In teams of ten, throughout this week the teams are arriving in relay to assist with whatever jobs need doing.
From sorting bags of donated items to carrying boxes to load the van, these guys have been on hand to help out at a time we need them most. We are so grateful to Lucy Matthews, Assistant Head for organising this valuable experience, as well as the help and support she has offered in other ways.
