They're on their way!
Today was the day that we finally got to send our boxes to where they should be.
So many people have been involved in the process up until this point and we were grateful to have the help of more volunteers this morning. Nottingham High School's Mellers' House have chosen Operation Orphan as their house charity and were keen to come along and lend some practical help. They certainly did a great job of carrying all those boxes onto the lorry and sending them on their way.
We were also happy to see a familiar face - Sebastian, the lorry driver who has driven some of our lorries before and he always wants to help load which is really lovely. Language barriers aside we all managed to get the job done together and Sebastian was really pleased to be part of the team and receive one of our Operation Orphan t-shirts!
To add to the excitement of the day, Will from Notts TV arrived to film the loading, ready for us to feature on the evening news! A few of us were interviewed and it was great to be able to tell our local community what we're doing and highlight the need for donations of winter coats.
After a few hours, the lorry was ready to go and we all waved goodbye to the boxes, happy in the knowledge that very soon, 1300 children in Moldova will be benefiting from their contents.
Thank you to EVERYONE who has been a part of Keep a Child Warm 2018!
